Prior to the store’s grand opening, founders Cyntha Knott and Patrick and Samantha Sanchez had experienced, first-hand, the urban renaissance that has revitalized Albuquerque's West Side. Although new construction brought beautiful communities, fabulous restaurants and great shopping, they dreamed of a local pet destination that the neighborhood lacked. With their pit bull, Jack, and husky, Rascal, as their muses, the trio began to work on shaping what would become ‘Jack & Rascal’s.’ After sourcing the highest quality and uniquely designed products and foods, locating a storefront and scouting top trainers and groomers, the shop opened its doors March 14th, 2009.
Jack & Rascal’s isn’t just a pet store but a place for cat and canine social time and indulgence. The store’s popularity is growing rapidly as West Side residents and their four-legged friends discover this new pet paradise. Our neighbors are becoming regulars and out-of-towners now have one more reason to come back down to Albuquerque. Today, Cindy, Patrick and Samantha are keeping things pet-friendly on the West Side by offering a wide selection of foods, all new pet accessories, toys and treats and premier grooming and training — Jack & Rascal’s is exactly what Albuquerque needed!
